PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN GREETS TURKISH ATHLETES AT THE WORLD NOMAD GAMES

President of the Turkish Tug of War Federation Eray Aldemir and Turkish athletes represented Türkiye at the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games held in Kyrgyzstan. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who attended the ceremony together with First Lady Emine Erdoğan, stood up and greeted the Turkish athletes participating in the Games.

The 6th World Nomad Games, bringing together athletes and representatives of traditional sports from various countries, officially began with a spectacular opening ceremony held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Among the Turkish delegation attending the international event were Eray Aldemir, President of the Turkish Tug of War Federation, and Turkish tug of war athletes. Carrying the Turkish flag during the opening ceremony, the athletes proudly represented Türkiye on the international stage.

President Erdoğan Stands to Greet Turkish Athletes

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan attended the opening ceremony at Bishkek Arena.

One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony came as the Turkish athletes entered the arena during the parade of nations. President Erdoğan stood up and warmly greeted the athletes who had travelled from Türkiye to participate in the World Nomad Games.

The Turkish delegation and athletes responded to President Erdoğan’s greeting as they continued their ceremonial parade through the arena.

Commenting on Türkiye’s participation in the event, Eray Aldemir, President of the Turkish Tug of War Federation, said:

“We are extremely proud to represent our country at the 6th World Nomad Games, an important international event that brings together the shared culture, traditions and sporting heritage of the Turkic world. It was a particularly meaningful and proud moment for us when our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stood up and greeted our athletes during the opening ceremony. Together with our athletes, we are here to represent our crescent-and-star flag and our country in the best possible way on the international stage.”

Representing Türkiye Through Tug of War

The Turkish Tug of War Federation continues its efforts to promote and develop tug of war, one of the important disciplines within traditional sports culture, throughout Türkiye while strengthening the country’s representation at international sporting events.

The participation of Federation President Eray Aldemir and Turkish athletes in the 6th World Nomad Games also represents an important step towards increasing the international visibility and recognition of tug of war in Türkiye.

Throughout the World Nomad Games, Turkish athletes will compete in various events with the aim of proudly representing their country and flying the Turkish flag on the international stage.
